Aspire Respite Day Program Wednesday- June

Welcome to Aspire! This Adult Respite Day Program is for adults with disabilities in and around the Wake Forest community. Our goal is to provide a much-needed break for caregivers. Participants have fun making new friends, exploring new activities, unfold their creativity through arts and crafts, and stay physically active by engaging in games which get them on their feet and moving. Most importantly we provide a safe place where they are free to be themselves, give them a sense of belonging and to socialize among friends.

Note:

Eligibility Criteria for Participation in the Aspire Program.
Aspire is a respite and social group for adults with disabilities. Although we do our best to accommodate everyone’s needs, we cannot offer individualized programing. For the safety and comfort of all participants we must have guidelines which best serve the whole group. In the rare occasion a participant does not meet the eligibility criteria, even when attending with a 1-on-1 support person, the Aspire instructors may determine the participant is not a good fit for the program and will be removed.
· Participant needs to be independent with toileting, eating and personal hygiene.
· Participant does not display aggressive or disruptive behaviors.
· Participants will follow the directions given by instructors.
· Participant will adhere to the following program rules:
o Be positive
o Be tolerant and respectful
o No arguing
o No cellphone or electronics except for breaktime
o Never leave the group without permission
If your participant does not meet the eligibility criteria for Aspire, they may attend with a 1-on-1 personal support person that must stay in the room or within the building at the direction of the instructor.

Personal Support Person Guidelines:
Aspire instructors cannot provide one on one instruction, personal care or manage disruptive behaviors with participants.
Support people:
