Advanced Watercolor

Join us for a relaxed and engaging watercolor class designed for those with a little experience under their belt—or a lot of enthusiasm! Whether you've dabbled before or you're ready to take your watercolor journey further, this class will give you the confidence and techniques to bring your creativity to life. Each week, we’ll explore new skills and projects, including:

Week 1: Refresh & Flow – A gentle reintroduction to essential materials, washes, and blending techniques/ Still Life w/Vegetables and Fruit
Week 2: Layers & Light – Learn how to build depth, and explore color mixing with purpose, Buildings and Street Scenes
Week 3: Watercolor Water! – reflections, still water, waves, fish, ducks etc
Week 4: Exploring the Masters - Choose your favorite to emulate.
Week 5: Adding People to a Project: Sitting, Standing, Walking.
Week 6: Final Project & Creative Play – Apply your skills in a guided final piece with room for your own artistic voice. Have fun and experiment with pens, watercolor pencils or pastels!

Expect a supportive, open environment with demonstrations, guided practice, and time for questions and feedback. You’ll leave each class with new techniques and inspiration, plus a growing portfolio of your own artwork. Designed for those with a basic understanding of the media, who would like to continue their skills.

Please bring what you have to the first class. We will discuss types of paints and colors in detail during the first class.

Paint – I prefer tube paints. Windsor Newton or Daniel Smith are great brands. Professional grade over student grade is preferred.
Palette – A covered palette preferrable - plastic
Paper – Cold Press, Pads or Sheets
Brushes – Sizes, 8, 6, 4 & 2
